50 private enterprises in Guangdong are listed in the "2023 China's Top 500 Private Enterprises". The list was announced at the 2023 China's Top 500 Private Enterprises Summit and the National Conference on Supporting Shandong's Green, Low-carbon, and High-quality Development, hosted by the National Federation of Industry and Commerce, held in Jinan, Shandong on September 12th. Among the listed enterprises, Guangdong has a total of 50 private companies in the "2023 China's Top 500 Private Enterprises", 46 in the "China's Top 500 Private Manufacturing Enterprises", and 19 in the "China's Top 100 Private Service Enterprises". The number of enterprises listed from Guangdong ranks fourth, fourth, and first in the country respectively. Among the top 10 in the "2023 China's Top 500 Private Enterprises", Guangdong occupies four seats, namely, Evergrande Group, Tencent Holdings, Vanke, and BYD.


This year marks the 25th consecutive organization of large-scale research on private enterprises by the National Federation of Industry and Commerce. The threshold for entering the "Top 500 Private Enterprises" has increased by 12.11 billion yuan compared to the previous year, reaching 27.578 billion yuan. The threshold for entering the "Top 500 Private Manufacturing Enterprises" has increased by 19.44 billion yuan compared to the previous year, reaching 14.516 billion yuan. The threshold for entering the "Top 100 Private Service Enterprises" has increased by 12.89 billion yuan compared to the previous year, reaching 31.404 billion yuan.


Among the listed private enterprises in Guangdong this year, there are 15 companies with a total annual revenue of over 100 billion yuan, which is the same as last year. They are Evergrande Group, Tencent Holdings, Vanke, BYD, Midea, SF Holding, Luxshare Precision, Gree Electric Appliances, TCL Technology, Sunshine Insurance, Digital China, TCL Industrial Holdings, Peking University HSBC Business School, VIPShop, and Dinglong Industrial. Among the "2023 China's Top 500 Private Enterprises", there are five companies with total assets exceeding one trillion yuan, two of which are from Guangdong, namely Vanke and Tencent Holdings. Tencent Holdings has the highest research and development expenses, reaching 61.401 billion yuan. BYD has the highest number of employees, reaching 570,100.


The 50 listed enterprises in Guangdong Province are mainly distributed in the Pearl River Delta region, including 27 in Shenzhen, 8 in Guangzhou, 7 in Foshan, 3 in Huizhou, and 1 each in Zhuhai, Dongguan, Jiangmen, Zhongshan, and Yunfu. In terms of industry distribution, manufacturing still dominates, with 30 out of the 50 enterprises belonging to the manufacturing industry, accounting for 60% of the total.
